Week 2 Predictions

It's almost the weekend again! I am most excited about watching Ole Miss play. They scored 76 points last week and I want to see if they can do it again against Fresno State. They have a great offense and can throw the ball as good as anybody.

It'll also be fun to watch the Florida game. They finally are looking better than they have the last couple of years but we'll have to see how the season pans out for the Gators.

What game are you most excited to watch and why?

Here are my SEC predictions going into the weekend:

Kentucky at South Carolina ----- 28-10 SC
LSU at Mississippi St ----- 20-10 LSU
East Carolina at Florida ----- 33-10 FL
Fresno State at Ole Miss ----- 56-7 Ole Miss
Missouri at Arkansas State ----- 28-10 Missouri
Georgia at Vanderbilt ----- 38-10 UGA
Toledo at Arkansas ----- 38-7 Arkansas
Middle Tennessee at Alabama ----- 40-6 Alabama
Ball State at Texas A&M ----- 34-10 A&M
Oklahoma at Tennessee ----- 21-19 Tennessee
Jacksonville St at Auburn ----- 38-10 Auburn

Back in the day, officials wore black socks with the white socks covering up to the middle of the calf. One official arrived at the game but had forgotten his black socks. None of us had any extra so we went to the drug store and bought black shoe polish. We painted the official's legs where the black socks should have gone. When he pulled the white socks on you really couldn't tell the difference! Later in life, that official became a doctor. Nobody knows what this life will bring in the future.

  2. Great stuff. I enjoyed last week too.
I'm interested in the LSU- Miss St game since we haven't seen LSU at all. Outside the SEC I'm curious to see how ND looks against UVA (selfishly in advance of GT travelling to South Bend the next week).
I'm almost ready to see Florida crawl back. I have to say I was fortunate to be at The Swamp to see Dan Mullen beat his old boss Urban Meyer in his first trip back.

  3. Let's see....
SC too low, in the 40s vs. the Wildcats
Right on the money with LSU
Florida scores 45 plus vs. East Carolina
Ole Miss in the 40s, certainly, but 56 too high
Missouri about right. Arkansas State is a tough little team
Georgia scores 45 plus vs. Vandy. Sorry, 'Dores.....
Arkansas most underrated team in SEC--scores 45 vs. Toledo
Alabama about right. Saban never runs up scores.
    Texas A & M about right.
    Tennessee loses to Oklahoma
Auburn scores 45 vs. Jax St., although Jax St. tough across both lines of scrimmage.

  4. Hi Uncle Joe

Great picks last week! That is really hard to do any week of the college Football season. SMU put up a pretty good fight with Baylor last week but they just don't have the depth yet to hang with them through 4 quarters. Chad Morris is the real deal and SMU is lucky to get him. This is a great blog, I have been coming here since you started but have never been able to get my post to go through. Hopefully this one does!!
    Great stories!!!
    Your Nephew Mark!

  5. Another good week except for the 2 crazy upsets and that great Tennessee game. I wish the Gamecocks could have gotten their win. Makes me worry about them coming into Athens needing to prove themselves! Are they any good? I didn't see the game. Should we be worried?
